"My Beliefs"
3. Post a reflection titled "My Beliefs" on your beliefs on the use of technology in the classroom. Post a reflection of no more than 3 paragraphs discussing these points.
I belief that technology is a very important part of the classroom. It is how students interact and learn in their free time so it can and should be used as a tool to do so in the classroom. It will allow the information to become available. I think that it will greatly help the class run smoothly, i can have the assignments both handed out and available online fore students.
I feel that technology is going to have a great impact on how my students learn and by allowing different ways i can address many different learning styles.
I also believe that if i expect my students to learn and grow i as the teacher must be always learning and growing. i need to keep my eyes open for anything that may make my class better, might improve my delivery, or improve my knowledge. Since my students are growing up in this time i need to be willing and open for new ideas.

2. Post a reflection titled "Lessons Learned" of no more than 3 paragraphs discussing your thoughts, concerns, and what you learned from the readings, videos, and web sites.
Through the material given to reflect upon my thought was how much the students of today are aware of where they are in the world of technology. I can say that when i was in school i do not think i knew what my place was. I knew that i had to take a typing class and that i did not have the words per minute of the student next to me, but i did not understand that this was going to become very important. when cell phone started to get big i did not care that i did not have one and now it is rare to find someone that does not have and use one regularly. students now know that technology is important, they know their place, they know that it is not going to slow down, and they are fast learners who are very open to new ideas.
With in the articles and videos this is very clear. So in order to be able to help my students i can not give up or settle with the knowledge of technology that i know, i need to be always learning. I do not want to be a teacher that is stuck on transparencies, when my students are learning from interactive situations all of their other classes..

Establish goals you would like to accomplish as a beginning teacher who will integrate technology in instruction and in the classroom. Your goals should be developed according to your weaknesses. Identify 2 mini-workshops, short-courses, podcasts, or 2 on-line tutorials you would take that will improve your weaknesses. Explain how these workshops and/or tutorials will further your professional growth and goals. Post a reflection titled "Strengths & Weaknesses" of no more than 3 paragraphs discussing these points.
I think my big weakness at least for the UEN survey was that expert and Practitioner involved having a lesson plan and specific ways in which i as the teacher would involve technology in the classroom, and although this class has diffidently made me think about it i have yet to really make a lesson plan that involves these things. so that is the area that i struggle. I think i am pretty strong though for most areas, i feel confident that i can manage and succeed with most things dealing with technology. I also think that one of my strengths is that i am willing and eager to learn more and grow when it comes to technology. one of the NET requirements say that teachers use technology to enhance their performance and i am trying to do that i am always looking for different ways to speed up the task. I also think that i am looking for this when it come to projects for my students i want to offer them lots of options and ways that will not take forever to complete and will involve a great outcome!
To improve on my weakness i think what i would do is always keep up on the new technology and pay attention to any workshops or classes that would help with this. Also when i am thinking of and planning lesson plans i need to always be thinking about how i can involve technology into my lesson for the benefit of the students.

march 28th internet safety:
what: internet safety: The internet is a big place full of many many different sources of information. As teachers we need to understand that this will be a part of our curriculum because of this it is also important to know what is happening on the internet and ways we can help our students.
So what: As a history teacher i will have a least one assignment that requires student research. During this assignment i need to have the knowledge required to direct them to good sources. I feel the same way most of the sources do that we as teachers need to teach them how to tell the difference... i do not think this was taught to me until a class in college!! and it has continued to be very helpful information. If i as the teacher take half a day to teach my students to critically think about where they are getting information and show them sites that i approve and recommend tis will not only protect my students but they will also be able to acquire better information.
Now what: as always practices stay up to date the internet is one of the fastest changing things, also i need to practice what i preach and make sure that i am always being safe with the internet.
